Sanctuary of the Elephants and Doi Inthanon

Today you will have a memorable day: you will get acquainted with elephants in the right way and you will visit a mountain with its 2,565 meters above sea level and the highest peak of Thailand, a beautiful day on the roof of the country with great comfort from Chiang Never.
First you will make the journey from Chiang Mai to the Elephant Sanctuary of the Doi Inthanon Elephant Care which is very close to the summit of the Doi Inthanon … upon your arrival at the shrine you will be welcomed by members of the Karen hill tribe and wear traditional clothes.
You will be given a bag of fruit and vegetables to feed the elephants.
You can feed the elephants, interact and play with them.
You will walk the elephants to the river where you can swim with them and help them wash.
Before the end of the visit, there will be a delicious buffet of freshly prepared home-made dishes.
In our days, our elephants are no longer used for work and we have learned to create a pleasant and relaxed environment for them. We want to share with you our passion for these fantastic animals. By visiting our Doi Inthanon Elephant Care Center, you can learn and experience firsthand how to take care of our elephants. There is no exploitation, you do not ride the animal with the armchairs on your back, the elephant is not made for that.
A day trip with Doi Inthanon Elephant Care will surely be an unforgettable memory!
Around 12.00 you will be outside the Sanctuary of the Elephants and the tour with the necessary breaks will continue towards the summit and then visit Phra Mahathat Napha Methanidon and Phra Mahathat Naphaphon Phumisiri, the twin pagodas that were built to commemorate the fifth cycle of the king’s birthday Bhumibol Adulyadej and Queen Sirikit.

These two pagodas are in a magnificent setting.
When you return, if you still have the strength, you will stop at the Mae Klang Waterfall on the way down the mountain before heading back to the valley to Chiang Mai.
