CHIANG RAI

Chiang Rai is a province located about 200 km north-east from Chiang Mai, three hours drive. It is undoubtedly the Thai stereotype composed of verdant hills, rice fields and tea plantations and large open spaces. This is in effect Chiang Rai, a set of unique and unmissable elements that strongly characterize this country both in reality and in the imaginary of the conscious traveler. The city of Chiang Rai was founded in 1262, only 34 years before neighboring Chiang Mai and is the most northern city and also the most extensive in Thailand today. The Golden Triangle is undoubtedly its most famous attraction but it has first class temples that must be visited due to their historical importance and objective beauty. Its proximity so evident at the Burmese and Laotian borders is also geographically a gateway to these neighboring countries that even increase its undoubted exotic appeal and the expectations that will not be disappointed ... Chiang Rai is an irreplaceable goal of Thailand.
