Itinerary in detail

DAY 1: HANOI ARRIVAL

Arrival at Noi Bai Airport, you will be warmly welcomed and transferred to hotel by driver only with signboard.

In the afternoon, you are free at leisure.

DAY 2: HANOI FULL DAY TOUR – NIGHT TRAIN TO LAO CAI

Breakfast at hotel, tour guide pick up you and start your day tour by visiting: Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, which tells the life story of the great leader, as well as serves as his final resting place.

House on Stilt where Ho Chi Minh stayed, One Pillar Pagoda, one of the oldest architectures dated back from the 11th century. It rises on a one pillar from the middle of a square lotus pond. Legend has it that Ly Thai Tong had a dream vision Quan Am sitting on a lotus flower and promising him a male child. Thus, he had this pagoda built, itself sitting on a pond like a giant flower on its tall stem.

Continue the city tour with the Temple of Literature – the first university in Vietnam.

After lunch at local restaurant, you will visit Ethnology Museum (closed on Mondays, the alternative being the History Museum) and then Ngoc Son Temple and Enjoy “Cyclo ride”.  

You can then relax or light food for dinner by yourself until the departure of the night train to Lao Cai (with tour guide will escort).

DAY 3: LAO CAI – CAT CAT VILLAGE & HAM RONG MOUNTAIN (B,L)

Breakfast at hotel. Today, we will have a day for Sapa sightseeing.

At 08:30, tour guide pick up you at hotel, and we start transfer to Cat Cat village which is occupied by the Black H’mong tribe. Here, you can see the hydroelectric power station which was built by the French in twentieth century. You will experience the tribal way of life of ethnic minorities while enjoying wonderful views of the terraced rice paddy fields and the waterfall in Cat Cat village.

13.00: Arrive back Sapa, have lunch.

Afternoon: You will explore Ham Rong Mountain with unspoiled and spectacular scenery. Here, you can enjoy many kinds of colorful flowers in Indochian Orchid Garden. Passing two Heaven Gates, visitors will reach the top of Ham Rong which is called Pitch Cloud and have a panoramic view of Sapa.

Have dinner at local restaurant.

DAY 4: LAO CHAI – TA VAN VILLAGE & SAPA TOWN – NIGHT TRAIN TO HANOI (B,L)

Breakfast at hotel. Today, we will have second day for Sapa sightseeing.

At 08:30, tour guide pick up you at hotel, and we start transfer to visit Lao Chai – Ta Van Village to understand more about ethnic minority communitie, enjoy imposing mountain scenery, terraced fields, marvellous nature. Visit ancient sacred stones with big – small ones which have many unique images, secret sigh. See bridge which made by rattan like Muong Hoa stream.

13.00: Arrive back Sapa, have lunch.

Afternoon: You will explore Sapa town by visiting Stone Church, The Lake, Local Market and take a relax with coffee shop with light dinner (payment by your own expense).

You then return to Lao Cai train station by car to catch the night train to Hanoi.

DAY 5: HANOI – HALONG BAY OVERNIGHT ON BOARD (B,L,D)

Breakfast at hotel, 08:00AM, cruise’s staff (no private guide) will pick up and transfer by shuttle bus of cruise to Halong Bay. From Hanoi, head East for more than 3 hours to Halong Bay, the pride of the Gulf of Tonkin, a Natural World Heritage as designated by UNESCO in 1994. The road will pass by the Red River delta with green paddyfields and rural villages, where hard-work farmers are busy with their farming jobs, ploughing buffaloes or planting seedling. Upon arrival in Halong, we’ll take a big boat to cruise the Bay to discover the magnificent beauty of this “Descending-dragon” bay, created by thousands odd-shaped limestone rocks and karst grottoes. After a lunch of fresh seafood on board, we can visit the Surprising Grotto, stop for swimming or kayaking, passing floating villages and approach islets to enjoy their beauty in close distance. Back to the boat for dinner late afternoon. Evening attend activities on the boat or relax at your own leisure.

DAY 6: HALONG BAY – HANOI & FLIGHT TO HUE (B,L)

Breakfast on boat, The Vietnamese call the “East Sea” by a point-oriented name “Eastern Sea”, so you may guess how miraculous it is seeing the sunrise over the islets of the Bay.

The boat will take us to go about marvelous areas, where almost each islet has its own name, adopting its shape or reminiscent, including the Fisherman’s Head, Turtle, the Sail, the Incense Burner Rock, the cute Sea Dog Rock or Cock Fighting Rocks and so on. Lunch on boat.

Check out and get back to the shore for private car & driver only transfer directly to Noi Bai Airport in Hanoi for domestic flight to Hue city.

Upon arrival Phu Bai Airport in Hue, driver (no guide) pick up and transfer to hotel and check-in and relax.

DAY 7: HUE CITY TOUR – TRANSFER TO HOI AN (B,L)

Breakfast at hotel, today we will visit Hue – an imperial city, it will unveil in all its ancient charm of colors and architecture so far away from ours and preserve indelible memories such as the death in 1963 desired by a monk to protest against the war that was called fire in front of the pilgrims incredulous on the pavement of the Thien Mu Pagoda (Celestial Lady). Enjoy a leisure boat trip along the Perfume River to visit the towering Thien Mu Pagoda, one of the most famous Vietnamese landmarks and we will visit Minh Mang and Khai Dinh King Tomb to help you understand more Royal’s Life and their architecture.

Have lunch.

Afternoon, we will visit Imperial Citadel with many special activities happen here that reflect and take you back to the Hue Imperial in the past.

After that, we will depart from Hue to Hoi An, check in hotel & relax.

DAY 8: HOIAN – MYSON HOLYLAND – HOI AN WALKING TOUR (B/L)

Have breakfast at hotel. This morning, we take a half day trip to a World Cultural Heritage site My Son Sanctuary of Champa Kingdom, which was very powerful and prosperous Kingdom in Southeast Asia from 4th century to 11th century. We drive 2 hours through rural area, rivers, paddy fields, mountains to this site for visiting these fantastic monuments of the Cham people and also have a chance to entertain Champa Traditional Dance show.

After visiting this site, we transfer back Hoian for lunch.

Afternoon, we will be taken on a half day walking tour through the narrow, winding streets of Hoi An’s ancient town, visiting Chua Ong Pagoda, Chinese assembly halls, the 200year

old Tan Ky ancestral house, and the Japanese Bridge.

Following the tour you can explore the town and go shopping on your own.

DAY 9: HOIAN – MARBLE MOUNTAIN – FLY TO HOCHIMINH (B/L)

Breakfast at hotel, we are still free time in Hoian this morning, you will have time to visit the last things in Hoian by yourselves or relax at hotel.

At 11:00 AM we check out hotel, tour guide will pick up you to Hoian ancient town and have time for lunch.

After luch, we transfer to visit Marble Mountain, then visit the Cham Museum, the marvelous museum which tells us in advance about the Cham Culture, once brightened in Central Vietnam.

At 16:00, we transfer to Danang International Airport for departure flight to Hochiminh (tentative departure flight at 19:00).

Upon arrival Tan Son Nhat Airport in Hochiminh, driver (no guide) pick up and transfer to hotel and check-in and relax.

DAY 10: HOCHIMINH – MEKONG DELTA – CAN THO (B/L)

Have breakfast at hotel.

Tour guide will pick up at your hotel at 8:30am and driven to Ben Tre. Upon arrival at Hung Vuong pier you will embark a boat to cruise on Ben Tre River, one of the tributaries of the Mekong River. Enjoy the lively activities on the river like fishing and water transferring. You will stop at a brickfactory, to see how bricks are made by hand in a traditional way. Your next stop is one of numerous coconut processing workshops located along the canal.

Take a bicyclecart along a village path and stop at a farmer’s house for lunch. You then talk a walk to a matweaving village before embarking small rowingboats to travel along palm tree lined waterways back to Hung Vuong pier.

You will then drive to Can Tho. Upon arrival, check into hotel and relax.

DAY 11: CAI RANG FLOAT MARKET – HOCHIMINH (B/L)

Have breakfast at hotel.

In the early morning, you will visit Cai Rang floating market, the biggest and most famous floating market in the Mekong Delta. Get into a sampan to explore the complicated canal system of Can Tho. You then disembark to visit a beautiful old Binh Thuy house. In the afternoon you will return to Ho Chi Minh City. On the way, you will visit Vinh Trang Pagoda, a beautiful pagoda in the Mekong Delta.

DAY 12: CU CHI TUNNELS – HOCHIMINH CITY TOUR – DEPARTURE (B)

Have breakfast at hotel.

Morning, We depart from Ho Chi Minh City  to Cu Chi Tunnels. We arrive in Cu Chi Tunnels. Then we will watch a propaganda film a wartime propaganda film showing how local guerilla fighters were “American Killing Heroes” (a short introductory video showing how the tunnels were constructed).

We then spend the next hour exploring the maze of tunnels in Cu Chi. Also on display are various mantraps and the remains of an American tank as well as numerous bomb craters made by 500 pound bombs dropped by B52 bombers.

After that, we transfer back Ho Chi Minh City and have free time for lunch (pay by your own account).

Afteroon: We start Hochiminh city tour half day by visiting War Remnants Museum, on the way stop to visit Notre Dame Cathedral and Old Post Office, 2 most famous and oldest of classical French colonial architecture construction was built more than 100 years ago.

At 16:00, we transfer to Tan Son Nhat airport for your departure flight.

The cancellation charges below refer to the non-transferable fee that is charged to the group member who has cancelled their tour:

More than 45 days before departure: No cancellation charge

Between 45 and 30 days before departure: 10% of total tour cost

Between 30 days and 15 days before departure: 25% of total tour cost

Between 15 days and 7 days before departure: 50% of total tour cost

Less than 7 days before departure: 90% of total tour cost

No-show at the airport on the day of arrival/departure: 100% of total tour cost
